Abstract: the article is devoted to the study of the characteristics of the emotional-volitional sphere of employees of various units of law enforcement agencies. The article provides a description of static data; characteristics of neuropsychic tension, perseverance, initiative, volitional self-regulation and anxiety of employees of the State Inspectorate for Road Safety and the Temporary Detector. The study analyzed the available psychological literature on the problem of studying the characteristics of the emotional-volitional sphere of law enforcement officials. The emotional-volitional sphere of law enforcement officers of the city of Penza is described based on empirical data. The assumption put forward in the study on the existence of the following characteristics of the emotional-volitional sphere of employees of such law enforcement departments as the State Inspectorate for Traffic and the Temporary Detention Center, namely, perseverance, initiative, high self-regulation, moderate anxiety and neuropsychic tension, was confirmed. At the end of the study, the law enforcement officials participating in the study were offered professional psychological training, classes aimed at the formation and development of certain qualities, skills and abilities necessary to maintain the emotional-volitional sphere of the traffic police and TDC as recommendations. The results obtained by the authors in the course of the study can be used in the training system for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, including as a theoretical basis for preventive, corrective and advisory activities.
