Abstract: the analysis of scientific publications, results of own researches of psychological stress, building on the dominant principle of A. A. Ukhtomsky and the concept of the pyramid of needs of A. Maslow, is allowed to justify the priority of emotional factors that are realized at the expense of the instincts, unconditional and conditional reflexes, in comparison with the information, the response to which is due to the cognitive processing of information. At the same time, emotional response in psychological stress is aimed at meeting the need for security related to the 2 stage, and in case of sleep disturbance to the violation of the satisfaction of physiological needs, that is, to the 1 stage, which is a priority in relation to the cognitive function, ensuring the satisfaction of the needs for respect and approval of society and self-esteem, based on external reference, which are located on the 4 stages in the pyramid of A. Maslow. Accordingly, sleep disturbance will lead to neurotoxicosis and the development of situational psychosomatic reaction. This is confirmed by the fact that against the background of regression of intensity of psychological stress there will be a decrease in the intensity of unaddressed anxiety, recovery of sleep and functional state at the organizational level.
