Abstract: psychological support for the development of a student’s personality during training at an educational institution of higher and secondary education is a necessary element that determines the development of a person as a professional in his field. A qualitative approach to this issue can improve the performance of students, in addition, affects the formation of character and development of communication skills, which is an important component of interpersonal communication.
The author notes the importance of psychological support for the development of the student’s personality as a necessary element of the education system. Unfortunately, in the modern educational process, this issue is not given any attention. This article analyzes the features of psychological support for the development of a student’s personality during a period of study at an educational institution of higher education, as well as factors affecting the development of a student’s personality. On the basis of the analysis of various factors that positively affect the development of the student’s personality, effective ways to improve those or other students’ skills were identified. The studies were conducted with the participation of students of the North Caucasus Institute (branch) of All-Russian State University of Justice (RPA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia) in Makhachkala. The survey method, interview and questioning, observation, testing were used. In the course of the study, students pointed out factors influencing positively on their personal development, as well as on ways to improve their psychological state in groups. The main cause of psychological discomfort in the groups was called by the students the communicative barrier, the elimination of which contributed to the improvement of the psychological microclimate in the groups.
