PARADIGM OF INTEGRATIVE PSYCHOSOMATIC AND SOMATOPSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT OF IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME

Abstract: on the basis of integrative ideas about the psychosomatic nature of irritable bowel syndrome and the primacy of intestinal microbiocenosis disorders, complicated by psychological and mental disorders leading to the development of a “vicious circle” of the pathological process, a developmental paradigm of this pathology is formulated. So, regardless of whether psychological stress is primary, leading to emotional stress, which is the trigger for the development of irritable bowel syndrome or disturbed intestinal microbiocenosis, leading to visceral pain and its perverted cognitive perception as a severe pathology, a “vicious circle” develops, the same as for psychosomatic, somatic and psychological etiology of irritable bowel syndrome. Accordingly, when building a strategy for the treatment of IBS, it is necessary to develop a strategy involving an integrative approach, including psychological correction in combination with medication maintenance.
