OPTIMIZATION OF CORRECTION OF AGE CHANGES OF SKIN OF THE LOWER EYELID

Abstract: high traumatization of tissues during the performance of blepharoplasty performed for the purpose of correction with aging of the skin of the lower eyelid leads to the development of intense phenomena of reactive inflammation. In parallel, the formation of scar tissue develops and there is a violation of the supporting structures of the lower eyelid, which can lead to ptosis of the lower eyelid following the tarsal plate. In addition, excision of the middle with the capture of the medial part of the excess skin of the lower eyelid can lead to the retraction of the lower eyelid and the reversal of the lower lacrimal point. Complications and high traumatism are limitations for the use of blepharoplasty in plastic surgery. In 43 patients, when correcting the expressed age-related changes in the skin of the lower eyelid, an original procedure was used to correct age defects in the lower eyelid. It provides for partial excision of the lower eyelid tissues with fragments up to 2.0 × 1.0 mm with an orientation along the wrinkles, taking into account the features of the structure of the skin of the lower eyelid in the medial, middle and lateral zones. In all cases, a positive result was achieved, focused on the client’s requests. At the same time there was an increase in microcirculatory blood flow, confirmed by the dynamics of the results of oximetry. Complications during and after correction procedures were not noted. It is advisable to continue research in this direction.
