Abstract: object: to study the connection between the levels of emotional intelligence with different levels of subjective feeling of loneliness in students of military specialties.
Methods: The paper considered a set of methods for collecting theoretical information: analysis, synthesis and generalization of scientific ideas available in the psychological literature on the topic of research. The empirical basis was formed by such methods as: “EmIn” emotional intelligence questionnaire” (author: D.V. Lyusin) and “Method of diagnostics of emotional intelligence “MEI” (author: M.A. Manoylova). To diagnose loneliness, we used the scale of subjective feelings of loneliness by D. Russell, L. Peplo, and M. Ferguson adapted by the Russian psychologist N.E. Vodopyanova. Methods of processing the research results were: qualitative and quantitative, statistical (Pearson correlation coefficient, Fisher criterion).
Results: The study found that high emotional intelligence has a close feedback connection with a low level of subjective feelings of loneliness. This indicates that there is a correlation between the two phenomena.
Conclusions: The data obtained in this study partially confirmed the hypothesis we put at the beginning of the study. We have outlined the basis for further research in this direction.
