Abstract: providing of Azerbaijan with medicinal plant resources has contributed to the acquisition of experience in the development of herbal products. The publication includes material relating preparation of drug dosage forms containing plant origin active substances. The purpose of the study has been the development of technological bases of production of vaginal suppositories containing dense licorice. Materials and methods. The subjects of research have been experienced vaginal suppositories, produced by pouring. Composition for 1 suppository: suppository base Supporin M-4.0g, dense extract of licorice 0.2g., polysorbate 80-0.1 g. Results and discussion. Excess of active components and exsipients which have been incorporated into product (more than 5%) required the experimental determination of the quantity of suppository base by manufacturing a “placebo” suppository for calculating replacement factor (Kz). Technological formulation algorithm of vaginal suppositories which includes classic stage: sanitation of the means of production, preparation of forming components, matter active substances and excipients, suppository mass, organization and checking of recalculations of components, implementation of components, production and design of finished products was proposed. 3 experienced batches of suppositories were received. Conclusion Fabrication of vaginal suppositories with dense extract of licorice tested in experimental and technological conditions is rational and can be used for industrial purposes
