EGO-IDENTITY IN THE STRUCTURE OF THE PERSONAL MATURITY CONSTRUCT

Abstract: the article presents the results of research on a rather topical issue of human sciences, namely, a meaningful solution to establish the «measure» of variability and stability of such an interdisciplinary phenomenon as identity in the structure of the construct of personality maturity. The relevance of this issue is due to the constant growth of social variability, the diversity of social communities, the emergence of new types of activities, social roles, group norms, etc. creating new structures of self-identity, which puts before the person the task of the need for permanent self-determination. The paper presents the results of the analysis of ideas about the initial moments of identity formation and its place in determining the health and maturity of the individual, examines the processes of ego-identity formation and what are its main mechanisms and stages of formation. The results obtained in the course of the study allowed us to formulate the conclusion that ego-identity should be considered as a holistic integrative education that determines the maturity of the individual, the measurement of which is possible by observing the actions and behavior of a person, as well as analyzing the line of his life. As a result of the research, it became obvious that the construction of a person’s own identity on the principle of «from the opposite» in relation to the rejected behavior of persons significant for socialization or by creating «agglutinized» idealized samples create conditions for the virtualization of the inner world of the individual and its separation from social reality towards the formation of elements of internal dissociation, and the elements of ego-identity are included in the structure of character and reflect its particular manifestations. The practical significance of the results obtained is determined by the established features of identity manifestations in human behavior and actions, which acts as an explanatory basis for many personal determinants, specifying the activities of specialists whose professional activities are in the scope of this study.
