Abstract: the article examines the role of the Internet environment and social networks in the life of modern teenagers, their impact on the psycho-emotional sphere and social development in general. The analysis of existing domestic and foreign studies on the possibility of identifying signs of negative changes in the psychoemotional state of a teenager through the analysis of the content of his personal page in social networks is given. The authors of the article conducted a study that confirmed that the content of personal pages of teenagers in social networks differs at a significant level of confidence, depending on the level of severity of anxiety and depression. Statistical characteristics were extracted from more than 210 thousand publications of adolescent Vkontakte users. The authors pay special attention to identifying correlations between individual markers of anxiety-depressive states of adolescents and values on the scales of the methods used in the study: the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) adolescent version, the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale, the Russian-language adaptation of T. Balashova, the Spielberger anxiety scale (State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, STAI) Russian-language adaptation by Yu.Khanin. The study shows that the use of social networks opens up new opportunities in psychological and diagnostic practice, in particular in the earlier diagnosis of anxiety and depression in adolescents.
