STUDY OF THE FEAR OF PUBLIC SPEAKING BY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE GENDER DIFFERENCES

Abstract: the article presents the results of a study of the fear of public speaking by high school students taking into account the gender differences. The aim of the article is to study the characteristics of the fear of public speaking in high school students based on gender differences. It was found that young men of high school age are characterized by a high level of self-esteem anxiety and anxiety in educational activities. At the same time, young men demonstrate a low level of self-regulation. It was revealed that girls of high school age are characterized by a high level of self-esteem, educational and extracurricular anxiety, they show low self-regulation regarding modeling, planning and evaluating the results of their educational activities. A discussion of the results of the study led to the conclusion that high school students, regardless of gender, have a high level of fear of public speaking. Based on the obtained data, it is necessary to develop and implement a special program of socio-psychological correction of the fear of public speaking for those older students who have low self-esteem, self-regulation, a high level of general, school and interpersonal anxiety, as well as for those students who do not have the skills controlling the emotional state, speech and voice during the speech.
